Kyle Coughlin is an active musician, teacher, author, publisher, and website creator.  He is a proficient performer in many styles of music, and earned his Masters and Doctorate degrees from the Peabody Conservatory.  He has performed throughout the US and Europe and has received grants for his compositions as well as his classical clarinet performances.

As a freelance musician, Coughlin has performed many times with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and he has worked as a sideman with Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Seth MacFarlane, Manhattan Transfer, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and many others.  He has released two jazz CDs, When Afternoons Return, and In the Shadow of Palms, which have been heard in radio and television broadcasts around the world.

An active and enthusiastic educator, Coughlin is the coordinator of jazz, winds, percussion, and music technology at Howard Community College.  He has written thirteen educational books, and has created numerous educational websites.
