Time Lines Melodic Phrases for Unit 2
Quarter Notes and Rests in 4/4

The Rhythm Patterns of Time Lines Unit 2 are all written on a single line staff and can be performed on one pitch. By changing the pitches of the notes, we can create a melody. The Melodic Phrases in this unit are short melodies that are four measures long. Each Melodic Phrase corresponds to the Rhythm Pattern with the same number. For example, Melodic Phrase M201 has the exact same rhythm as Rhythm Pattern P201, and so on.

Each webpage includes an audio example of the melody as well as the Time Lines color blocks to indicate the notes and rests. The sheet music for some of the melodic phrases can be viewed by visiting the Time Lines page for your instrument, listed below. You can also buy the book from those pages, which will allow you to see all of the sheet music for every melody, exercise, and pattern on the website in a clear, easy to follow format.
