Practice dotted quarter notes and learn to subdivide the beat while improving your rhythm and sight reading skills. Select a link below to listen to and play along with rhythm patterns that focus on dotted quarter notes combined with eighth notes, quarter notes, half notes, dotted half notes, and rests in 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures from Unit 6 of Time Lines. Each pattern is four measures long and features different combinations of the Unit 6 exercises. Each webpage includes an audio example of the pattern as well as an image of the Time Lines Color Blocks to indicate where the notes and rests are.
