Dotted Quarter Note Melodies for Concert Band Instruments

Melodic Phrase M608 features dotted quarter notes and single eighth notes, along with quarter notes and quarter rests in 4/4 time. There are four beats in each measure and the quarter note is equal to one beat. This melody is four measures long, and it is repeated four times in the audio example. You will hear a metronome count-off of one measure at which time you will start playing the melodic phrase. Listen carefully to the count-off to enter at the right time. This melody is played at 66 BPM (beats per minute) and the music is arranged for woodwinds, brass, and percussion instruments. In the third time through the pattern, the example will stop playing, but you should keep playing during that time so you can hear yourself clearly with the metronome.
