Time Lines Rhythm Patterns for Unit 7

Practice several different combinations of pickup notes in 2/4, 3/4, and 4/4 time signatures and improve your rhythm and sight reading skills. Select a link below to listen to and play along with rhythm patterns that feature pickup notes from Unit 7 of Time Lines. Each pattern is four measures long and features different combinations of the Unit 7 exercises. This unit includes pickup notes of one beat, two beats, half a beat, and one and a half beats. Each webpage includes an audio example of the pattern as well as an image of the Time Lines Color Blocks to indicate where the notes and rests are. Remember to clap and count each pattern before playing it. That will help you develop your sense of rhythm and tempo, and it will ensure that you play the notes and rests accurately, and that you start the pickup notes at the right time.
